John Beuttler

John Beuttler grew up in San Francisco and Los Angeles and lives in San Anselmo, in Marin County. He earned his MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute, then moved to Tucson, Arizona, to teach fine art, before opening and directing his own ad agency. Back in Marin he brought his artistic touch to the film industry, working on eleven major films. Today he focuses on making art: loose, flowing watercolours he calls Impressions, abstract landscapes drawn from location painting and sketching in the US Southwest, and a collection of various subjects. Alongside, he gives old furniture a new life. In his words, his journey has been about blending creativity with diverse experiences, from painting to teaching to film.
